Simulated · invented names · synthetic data

## The closest simulation: a year of giving.

There's no non-profit or co-op simulation of its own. The closest giving model is Cedar Hill Community Church, a simulated church. Its year runs through the engine, hledger and DuckDB, and all three give the same KPI hash. See [every preset](https://trifold.app/proof#simulations) and [where the simulations simplify](https://trifold.app/proof#simplify).

## Three things a non-profit’s books have to answer

### 1\. Donors and members who want to see where the money went

**How Trifold answers it** (chapter 03, Proof): every gift and every due paid through Stripe gets a receipt signed with your organization’s key. A donor or a co-op member can check theirs on the verify page, without an account.

### 2\. A board that needs the month, not a spreadsheet

**How Trifold answers it** (chapters 02 and 03, Books and Proof): payments post as balanced, append-only books, and you seal each month before the board meets. Anyone holding the seal can check that the month hasn’t changed since.

### 3\. A grant report or an audit

**How Trifold answers it:** every number traces to the Stripe payment behind it. Your auditor gets the events in open formats (hledger, Parquet, CSV) and can rebuild the books themselves. Tracking money by grant or fund isn’t built: the books show what came in through Stripe, not which grant it belongs to.

## Planned pricing

Planned non-profit and co-op pricing is on the [pricing page](https://trifold.app/pricing?org=np). It is a plan, not an offer, and may change before launch.

## Questions

**Is there a non-profit simulation?**

Not one of its own. The closest is Cedar Hill Community Church, a simulated church: monthly and yearly gifts at fixed levels, one-time gifts and a few refunds. It shows how gifts move through the same books and checks, and it has a demo dashboard on synthetic data.

**Can donors get acknowledgment letters?**

Not yet. Donation acknowledgment letters are on the roadmap, marked Later. Today each gift has a signed receipt the donor can check.

**Do you track restricted funds or grants?**

No. The books record what came in through Stripe and trace every number to its payment. Splitting money by fund or grant isn't built.
